Bordeaux Exposome Symposium – June 2026

The Global Exposomics for Brain Health Symposium 2026 will bring together leading researchers to advance a critical question in public health: how environmental exposures shape the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD).

The Global Exposomics for Brain Health Symposium 2026 will bring together leading researchers to advance a critical question in public health: how environmental exposures shape the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD).

Hosted in the Gironde region of France from June 17-19, 2026, the meeting will convene more than 100 senior and early scientists from more than 20 countries for a focused three-day program spanning exposomics, data science, and neurodegenerative disease research. In support of emerging leaders in the field, Mount Sinai has awarded 15 travel grants to early-career researchers to participate.

The agenda features:

  • Keynotes on the evolution and future of exposomics
  • Scientific sessions on life-course risk, biomarkers, and environmental drivers of brain health
  • Poster competition with 48 poster presentations showcasing emerging research
  • A final-day collaboration session to advance a global exposome research agenda

The symposium is organized by faculty from the Institute for Exposomic Research and the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (New York), the University of Bordeaux, and the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM). Additional partners include EIRENE, IHEN, NEXUS, and GECC.

This event is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH): Grant #R13AG087672, #P30AG028741, #P01AG066605, and #U24AG088894 from the National Institute on Aging (NIA); Grant #P30ES023515 and #U24ES036819 from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS); Grant #UL1TR004419 from the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program under the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS).
