Climate readiness is no longer just a public health policy issue—it is a frontline clinical necessity. Now in its 7th installment, this CME conference series is organized by the Mount Sinai Institute for Exposomic Research with support from ConduITS, the Clinical & Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program for the Mount Sinai Health System. This year marks a critical milestone as our first iteration organized in partnership with the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, exclusively dedicated to addressing the clinical care gaps for a highly vulnerable patient population: older adults. Our mission is to equip clinicians across specialties with actionable strategies to integrate climate preparedness directly into routine care. There will be a poster session for early career researchers and trainees.
CME credits will be available pending accreditation approval.
Poster Competition
Graduate students, residents, and trainees are eligible to participate in the poster competition. Awards: $250 – 1st Place | $200 – 2nd Place | $150 – 3rd Place

GOALS
- Identify Clinical Vulnerabilities: Assess physiological risks, frailty factors, and medical device dependencies that uniquely endanger older adults during extreme weather and power outages.
- Increase Clinical Readiness: Integrate extreme weather planning and climate preparedness directly into routine care workflows in primary and specialty care.
- Manage Acute & Systemic Crisis Responses: Formulate clinical strategies for weather-triggered cardiovascular and respiratory events while leveraging public health communications and emergency response systems to coordinate patient care.
