From Learners to Leaders: Teens Explore Environmental Health through Summer Internships

Mentored by faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, our environmental health summer internship program empowers youth to explore important topics in the field and create their own advocacy projects to educate and inspire their peers. 

Mentored by faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, our environmental health internship program empowers youth to explore important topics in the field and create their own advocacy projects to educate and inspire their peers.  During her internship, Ava Rubinstein, a high school senior in New York City, made a series of videos on ways to reduce harmful environmental exposures. Ms. Rubinstein also participated in the 2024 NYSCHECK Summer Academy, which focused on the health impacts of extreme heat.
